LET YOUR SMILE SHINE
Tooth sanding is a procedure used to remove pigmentation of varying origin (wine, black coffee, balsamic vinegar) from the tooth surface.
For optimal results, it is recommended that plaque be removed before sanding. The procedure uses grains of sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) that is sprayed in pressurised water to remove accumulations of deposits and pigments on the tooth surface that cannot be removed by brushing alone. This technique is able to achieve several shades lighter teeth.
The procedure is completely safe and does not damage the tooth tissue. Following the treatment, the tooth surface is polished and accumulations of food and bacteria on the tooth surface are reduced. After the treatment, patients should avoid smoking or consuming coloured foods and beverages (wine, coffee, teas) for at least two hours after the treatment.
